Lower than the lowest prices – Visit Lanka Sathosa

Minister of Trade Vasantha Samarasinghe, speaking at a press conference in Colombo, stated that a special sales promotion program has been implemented island-wide since yesterday (20) through the government’s retail chain, Lanka Sathosa, to enable the public to purchase essential food items and other goods at low prices targeting the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.

Under this promotional program, held under the theme “Sathosain Piri Avurudu Siri,” discounts of up to 40% are offered on 600 varieties of essential items, and every purchase over Rs. 2,500 entitles the customer to a coupon for valuable prizes.

Winners selected through a lucky draw from these coupons at the end of the promotional period in late April will be awarded prizes including a BAW electric motor car, electric scooters, furniture sets, and smartphones.

While price reductions for many essential goods are already in effect, Lanka Sathosa plans to implement further price cuts in the future.
