“Every Wednesday Declared a Holiday for Government Schools”

In view of the prevailing fuel crisis, the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Nalaka Kaluwewa, states that a decision has been taken to grant a holiday to all government schools every Wednesday.
Nalaka Kaluwewa further stated that this decision followed the government’s move yesterday (16) to grant every Wednesday as a holiday for public sector employees. He kindly requests all international schools, private higher education institutions, and vocational training institutes operating across the island to take steps to align with the government’s decision to declare every Wednesday a holiday for state institutions, in order to conserve energy and maintain essential services amidst the ongoing fuel crisis.
