Special notice for Sri Lankans residing in Israel

Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, has issued a notice advising Sri Lankan workers in Israel to refrain from responding to unknown messages when using social media and email.

The Ambassador stated that Sri Lankan workers must remain vigilant as there is a significant risk of cyber-attacks, sharing further details, Ambassador Nimal Bandara remarked:

“It is observed that the Middle Eastern conflict involving Israeli, Iranian, and American forces has been escalating daily for the past 11 days. In the event of missile attacks on Israel, there is a trend of targeting military and communication infrastructure. Last night, sirens sounded seven times.

Due to this situation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed the public today that there are frequent attempts to launch cyber-attacks. Therefore, for any reason whatsoever, please refrain from opening links, documents, or messages received via social media or email from unknown numbers or accounts while in Israel.”
