The Bureau is currently receiving a surge of complaints from individuals who have fallen victim to this scam after paying him significant sums of money. Legal action is already underway, and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has received reports of a large-scale human trafficking operation carried out by Sri Lankan national residing abroad, promising employment opportunities in Moldova.
The suspect, operating under the alias “Dubai Sudda,” has been conducting this racket by posting promotional videos across his personal Bureau urges any further victims to come forward and lodge their complaints immediately.

The Bureau strongly advises job seekers to avoid handing over money or passports to any intermediaries. Official foreign employment processes should only be conducted through SLBFE-licensed recruitment The SLBFE highlights that under the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment Act No. 21 of 1985, a valid license is mandatory for: Recruiting for overseas employment, advertising foreign job vacancies, Collecting funds or personal information, Processing passports for foreign jobs.
Engaging in these activities without a license is a punishable offense. Under the instructions of Minister Vijitha Herath, a Special Police Unit has been established within the Bureau to crack down on such traffickers. This unit has already received a high volume of related complaints.
The Bureau has observed a growing trend where Sri Lankans employed abroad use personal social media profiles or new pages to defraud job seekers. The SLBFE is closely monitoring these rackets and is committed to enforcing the law strictly against scammers, regardless of their status.
