The Sri Lanka Department of Ayurveda has arranged for a commemorative ceremony to be held tomorrow (23) under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, and with the participation of the Indian High Commissioner, Mr. Santosh Jha.

This year’s 10th World Ayurveda Day celebration will be held under the theme Ayurveda for people & planet.” The local celebration is scheduled to begin tomorrow (23rd) at 10:30 a.m. at the auditorium of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, University of Colombo.

The main World Ayurveda Day event will be held in Goa, India, at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). The event will focus on promoting sustainable healthcare services and integrating Ayurveda with modern medicine.

World Ayurveda Day to be celebrated tomorrow

The celebration is jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, the Department of Ayurveda, the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Colombo, the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, and the University of Colombo.

Scholars and professors representing the field of Ayurveda are also scheduled to attend the conference to deliver special lectures. The goal is to strengthen the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Ayurvedic medicine and to integrate it with modern medicine.

The Department of Ayurveda, a key institution in Sri Lanka’s Ayurvedic sector, is dedicated to promoting and preserving the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
