President says in Kadawatha
In Kadawatha, during the ceremony to restart construction on the Kadawatha to Meerigama section of the Central Expressway project, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated yesterday (17) that an underground state, operating parallel to the visible government, exists. He said that this underground state, consisting of organized crime like drug trafficking and shootings, will be definitively dismantled.
“If you can’t work, then leave: If you don’t leave, we will remove you”
Speaking further at the event, President Dissanayake said:
“A ‘black state’ has been created, similar to the state we see on the surface. They receive weapons from the legal military, they transport drugs, and the police who are supposed to suppress them provide them with protection. The Department of Immigration and Emigration legally issues passports, but the political authority illegally provides passports, registers motor vehicles, and institutions that register motor vehicles also provide them with legal protection.”
“We need a public service that respects every rupee of the public’s money and protects it like a sacred trust. We have identified some individuals and certain places in the state machinery that are addicted to old habits. We are repeatedly telling them to adapt to the new political environment. If they can’t, they can leave. If they don’t leave, we will remove them. Currently, organized crime groups have created a great disaster within society. We will act to suppress this disaster. The police have taken on the necessary challenge and trust to do so.”
