Victory to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka secured a four-wicket victory over Hong Kong in their T20 Asia Cup cricket match in Dubai on yesterday(15) This win puts Sri Lanka at the top of the points table in Group B.

Sri Lanka successfully chased down Hong Kong’s target of 150 runs, reaching 153 for six with five balls to spare.

The key to Sri Lanka’s win was Pathum Nissanka, who was the top scorer with 68 runs. Kusal Perera also contributed with 20 runs.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka decided to bowl first. Hong Kong’s innings ended with a total of 149 runs for four wickets in their 20 overs.

Hong Kong’s openers built a 41-run partnership for the first wicket before Zeeshan Ali was dismissed for 23 by Dushmantha Chameera. Anshuman Rath and Nizakat Khan then solidified the innings with a 61-run partnership for the third wicket.

In the bowling attack for Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera took two wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Dasun Shanaka each took one.

For Hong Kong, Anshuman Rath scored 48 runs and Nizakat Khan scored an unbeaten 52 runs, helping their team to a respectable total.

This was a significant match as it was the first time the senior national teams of Sri Lanka and Hong Kong had played against each other in international cricket.
