The railway department has reportedly taken steps to introduce a new train service named Ella Weekend Express to travel from Colombo to Badulla.

The Railway Department stated that this new train service was introduced on weekends to meet the high demand from both local and foreign tourists.

Accordingly, the department’s statement further mentioned that the new Ella Weekend Express will operate from Colombo Fort to Badulla every Saturday from the 16th onwards at 5:30 am , and from the Badulla railway station to Colombo Fort every Sunday from the 17th onwards.
