Smart Call Centre for Overseas Sri Lankan Workers

A discussion regarding a “Smart Call Centre” aimed at providing quick and reliable information and services to migrant Sri Lankan workers and their families was held last day (17) at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra.

The objective of this discussion was to modernize government services and provide quick, reliable services and essential information to Sri Lankan migrant workers and their families.

The Smart Call Centre is set to offer a range of services, including:

24/7, 365-day support in all three languages.Prompt resolution of complaints and swift referral of urgent issues to relevant departments. Integration with digital platforms such as WhatsApp, social media, and other digital channels for convenient service. Strengthening coordination among foreign embassies, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, and welfare divisions.
