Two fishing boats met with accidents yesterday (27) one that departed from the Dondra Fisheries Harbor in the evening, and another that sailed from the Moragalla area.

It has been reported that the Secretary of Defence has instructed the Air Force to deploy a Bell 412 helicopter to locate the missing fishermen from both vessels.

The boat that left the Dondra Fisheries Harbor yesterday evening had five fishermen onboard. It’s believed that this accident occurred due to a collision with a commercial vessel. So far, one fisherman has been rescued and brought ashore, while the other four remain missing. The Navy has also dispatched a search and rescue vessel in connection with this incident.
