The Presidential Media Division announced that former Deputy Minister Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.

Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma was a National List Member of Parliament for the National People’s Power (NPP) and also served as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning in the current government.

Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma resigned from his parliamentary seat last week to fill the vacant post of Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, which became available following the retirement of Mahinda Siriwardana.
