Steps taken to improve attitudes of Tourist Tuk-Tuk drivers

The Presidential Media Division announced that a preliminary discussion was held yesterday (18) at the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat to take steps to launch a program aimed at improving the attitudes and ethics of three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) drivers involved in the tourism sector.

Accordingly, it is planned to train ten thousand taxi drivers across all provinces of the island this year, with an estimated cost of 25 million rupees. The Presidential Media Division stated that 10 programs are expected to be held in each province.

This program aims to provide tuk-tuk drivers with extensive knowledge of road rules, foster responsibility among drivers, educate them on the measures to be taken when providing transport services, and ensure services meet the expectations of tourists.

The Presidential Media Division also mentioned that a software application is planned to be introduced for tourist tuk-tuk drivers with the objective of improving the quality of services related to the tourism industry. This program also aims to promote good attitudes among tuk-tuk drivers for friendly and quality customer service, enhance personal hygiene and professionalism, and improve their knowledge of the areas and places they cover.
