Reports confirm that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has suspended the party membership of Nawarathna Mudiyanselage Wijepala, who was elected to the Kandyketiya Pradeshiya Sabha under the SJB ticket.

This decision was conveyed in a statement issued under the signature of Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

The statement indicates that the party took this action due to Wijepala’s failure to act in accordance with the decisions of the SJB Party Management Committee and the Party Executive Board during the appointment of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Kandyketiya Pradeshiya Sabha.
