The Department of Railways has increased the number of train services, including special trains, for the Poson Festival on June 9th, 10th, and 11th.
According to the schedule, nine trains are set to arrive in Anuradhapura today (09) between 5:30 AM and 9:00 PM. Of these, two trains will depart from Beliatta at 5:25 AM and 8:55 AM, respectively. The remaining trains will start their journey from Colombo and head to Anuradhapura.
“Special train services for Poson Festival”
On June 10th, one train from Beliatta and six trains from Colombo Fort are scheduled to arrive in Anuradhapura. The train from Beliatta on this day is reported to depart at 8:55 AM.
For June 11th, six trains are scheduled to arrive in Anuradhapura from Colombo between 5:30 AM and 8:00 PM. additionally; another train is set to depart from Beliatta at 8:55 AM on the same day.
The Department of Railways also announced that special train services will be available for pilgrims returning from Anuradhapura. Information regarding these return services can be found via the Poson Pilgrimage mobile application.
