Jongsam Kim, Global HRM Manager of Samsung Heavy Industries, recently met with Arun Hemachandra, Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Seoul, South Korea.
During their discussion, Deputy Minister Hemachandra expressed Sri Lanka’s desire for a long-term relationship with leading Korean industries like Samsung, aiming to foster more productive, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnerships.

They also discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in the field of skilled foreign employment. The Deputy Minister highlighted Samsung Heavy Industries’ significant role as a prominent Korean industrial and engineering company that welcomes skilled foreign professionals, including those from Sri Lanka. The meeting also covered ensuring more streamlined and coordinated processes, with the active involvement of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, to support this collaboration.
