The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket series concluded yesterday (03) with the final match in Ahmedabad, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore clinched the championship.

Following the final match, at the awards ceremony, Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis was also honoured this season.

Representing the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, Kamindu Mendis received the award for ‘Catch of the Season’.

Kamindu Mendis managed to take this incredible catch during a preliminary round match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Chennai Super Kings. In that game, while fielding at long-off, Kamindu Mendis ran to his left and leaped in the air to take an amazing catch off a shot by Dewald Brevis of the Chennai team, who had lofted the ball over the mid-off region.

This is expected to go down in the record books not just in IPL history but also in the entire history of cricket as an unforgettable catch.
