Reports indicate that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has taken steps to issue a special announcement for Sri Lankans residing in Israel.
The announcement states that caution should be exercised regarding safety during the Sinhala New Year festival period in Israel.

Accordingly, as the Israeli Defense Forces successfully intercepted several missile attacks launched by the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen targeting Israel yesterday morning (18), the announcement mentions that Houthi rebels in Yemen may launch further missile attacks targeting Israel.
The announcement further states that various events, including New Year festivals, are scheduled to be held in several areas of the country from today (19) until the 26th, and therefore, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel urges Sri Lankans to act with vigilance in this regard.
