A discussion was held recently with all provincial governors regarding the issues that have arisen in the tourism sector. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Wijitha Herath, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hema Chandra, met with all the provincial governors for this purpose. The aim of the meeting was to establish coordination between the provincial councils and the central government regarding matters related to the tourism sector.

During this discussion, the identification of existing problems in the tourism sector also took place. Several identified issues, the relevant plans to resolve them promptly, and the government’s sustainable program to develop the tourism industry were also presented at this meeting.
