Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa says that preparations are underway to send a Sri Lankan medical team to Myanmar to provide relief to the people affected by the earthquake.

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa made this statement while addressing a media briefing in the Kalutara area.

During the briefing, the Minister stated that the medical team is ready to be dispatched once the Myanmar government provides notification

“The government is now taking steps to provide necessary medical supplies, including medicines, healthcare equipment, and other essential items to assist the people affected by the earthquake in Myanmar. Also, they require medical assistance following the earthquake. Accordingly, we have already prepared a medical and nursing team, including several specialist doctors with experience in such situations. We have informed the Myanmar Embassy through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They have requested us to keep the team ready and will notify us when needed. Therefore, we are waiting for their message to provide the necessary support,” the Minister further stated.
