Chairman D.J. Rajakaruna of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation stated while addressing an event of the Ceylon Petroleum Public Employees’ Union that steps will be taken to export lubricants within the next two months.

The Chairman stated that orders have already been received from Bangladesh for this purpose. Further commenting, the Chairman said,

“Our lubricant industry was completely collapsed. I am happy to say that we have been able to double it during this period. Within a maximum of two months, we will export Ceypetco oil abroad. An order has come from Bangladesh. The aviation fuel was just sitting idle. We spoke with the airlines and reduced the price below the regional rate. Our aviation fuel sales are now increasing rapidly compared to last year.”
