The 161st Police Heroes’ Day of the Police Department was held yesterday (21) morning at the Bambalapitiya Police Field Force Headquarters, under the patronage of Acting Inspector General of Police, Attorney Priyantha Weerasuriya.

Following the ceremonial parade, and paying respects at the Police Heroes’ Monument, Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya laid floral tributes at the war heroes’ memorial.

Former Inspectors General of Police retired senior police officers, disabled police officers, and family members of police officers who died in the war also participated in this occasion.
