Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Affairs and Environmental Conservation
A special meeting was held on the 18th at the Sri Lankan Parliamentary complex between Bimal Rathnayake, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation and Leader of the Sri Lankan Parliament, and Khalid Hamoud Al-Kahtani, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador.

During this meeting, discussions were held on the need to maintain and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Furthermore, discussions were held on several areas, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on joint maritime and environmental conservation between the two countries, enhancing educational cooperation for the student community of both countries, and expediting the establishment of a Parliamentary Friendship Association between the Saudi and Sri Lankan Parliaments.
During this meeting, an agreement was reached to provide the full support of the Saudi Arabian government to transform into a reality the national program, led by the President, to eliminate corruption and guide Sri Lanka towards an era of renaissance.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the Saudi Ambassador presented a commemorative gift to the Minister, signifying the friendship between the two countries.
