Manoj Vidyaratne, who is in charge of the Yala National Park, says that a decision has been made to temporarily close the Yala National Park until the prevailing rainy conditions subside.
Accordingly, the Katagamuwa and Palatupana entrance gates related to Yala Zone No. 1 have been closed.
Manoj Vidyaratne stated that many roads in the Yala National Park have been flooded due to the heavy rains that fell in the last two days, and several tank embankments in the park have broken. He mentioned that for the safety of wildlife as well as the safety of tourists, a decision has been made to close the Yala National Park from today (01) until the rainy conditions subside.
