Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunneththi recently stated at an event in the Rathnapura area that steps will be taken to provide a new digital facility to solve industry-related problems in the future.
During this event, the Minister stated that industrialists will be able to solve their problems from their respective districts through this facility.
“We are working to provide a new digital facility to solve industry-related problems- Minister Sunil Handunneththi”
Minister Sunil Handunneththi, further expressing his views, stated
It takes about a year and a half for someone starting a business to obtain the necessary permits. If you want to bypass this, you have to give a bribe. The government has increased the salaries of government officials instead of them taking bribes. Therefore, they should work without taking bribes and without corruption. To further improve this, we have decided to digitize all government payments. Therefore, we ask entrepreneurs not to give bribes to make your work easier. If you give bribes, then they will take bribes.
If industries are located in villages, and if the Ministry of Industries is a place that provides services to the people, then that service should be provided by going to the relevant district. Then, industrialists won’t have to waste time coming to Colombo. Once our program is modernized and integrated with technology, problems can be solved from within the factory itself. We call that a ‘one-window’ problem-solving method.
