Pope Francis has been admitted to a hospital in Rome for further medical examinations after being diagnosed with bronchitis, the Vatican has announced.

In 2023, Pope Francis also suffered from bronchitis, which led to the cancellation of his planned trip to Dubai for the United Nations COP28 climate summit.

Over the past two years, the Pope has experienced several health issues, including influenza and other medical concerns.

During his youth, he underwent surgery to remove part of one of his lungs, making him more susceptible to respiratory infections.
