Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, stated that construction projects carried out in the country’s healthcare sector without a proper plan have placed significant pressure on the hospital system.

The Minister made these remarks while inspecting several temporarily halted development projects at the Kandy National Hospital.

He further emphasized that these unstructured initiatives, implemented based on various influences, have become a major burden on the government, the healthcare service, and the country as a whole. However, as the initiated projects need to be completed, steps will be taken to allocate the necessary funds promptly to ensure their completion to a certain extent.
