“Several animals from the United Arab Emirates brought to the country for public exhibition”
A pair of brown bears, a pair of hyenas, and three pairs of meerkats were brought to the country yesterday (10) under the National Animal Exchange Program for exhibition in zoos.
The hyenas have been sent to the Ridiyagama Safari Park, while the other animals have been sent to the Dehiwala Zoo for a one-month quarantine period. The Department of National Zoological Gardens stated that after the quarantine period, the animals will be prepared for public exhibition.
