The inaugural ceremony of the Bharat Ranga stage drama festival was held lastday (06) at the Tower Hall Theatre in Colombo.
The event was graced by the presence of the Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha, Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hineiduma Sunil Senevi, and Western Province Governor Haniffa Yusuf, among other distinguished guests.

This theatre festival is organized collaboratively by the National School of Drama (India), Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Colombo, University of the Visual and Performing Arts (Sri Lanka), and the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation. The Bharat Ranga drama Festival is recognized as one of the largest theatre festivals in the world.
The festival, which runs until the 9th of this month in Colombo, will feature around 200 remarkable plays from Russia, Italy, Germany, Norway, the Czech Republic, Nepal, Spain, and Sri Lanka.
