“Two Lankans arriving from Bangkok were arrested at BIA with “Kush” worth Rs. 60 million”
Two individuals who smuggled Kush drugs via air travel have been arrested by the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau’s Airport Unit. The suspects arrived in the country last night (20) on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand.
Those arrested include a 31-year-old resident of the Borapola Mahaoya area and a 29-year-old resident of the Katuwana area.
The female suspect was found in possession of 3 kilograms and 750 grams of Kush drugs, while the male suspect had 2 kilograms and 880 grams in his possession. The officers have taken the drugs into custody.
According to police, the estimated street value of the narcotic haul is over Rs. 60 million.The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations into the incident.
