The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for the coastal areas extending from Colombo to Puttalam and Mannar through to Kankesanturai.

According to the department, the wind speed in these areas may occasionally increase to 50-60 km/h, and the sea conditions may become rough at times.

As a result, the department has urged the fishing and maritime communities to exercise caution, as stated in the notice issued by the department.
