The Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup begins today

The ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup begins today (18th) in Malaysia.

To mark the start of the tournament, six matches will be played today, including the opening match between Australia and Scotland, which will take place in Bangi.

The tournament, featuring 16 teams, is divided into four groups: ‘A,’ ‘B,’ ‘C,’ and ‘D’ for the preliminary round.

The preliminary round is scheduled to continue until January 23rd.

Following this, the top three teams from the points table in each group will qualify for the second round, also known as the Super 6 stage.

In the Super 6 stage, 12 teams from the preliminary round will be divided into two groups to compete further.

The top two teams from each group in the Super 6 stage will advance to the semi-finals.

Sri Lanka will compete in Group ‘A’ and is set to play its first match against host nation Malaysia tomorrow (19th).
