The Department of Meteorology announces that the sky will remain mostly cloudy across many parts of the island, with occasional rain or thundershowers expected.

Fairly heavy showers of approximately 100 mm is likely in some areas of the Eastern, Uva, Central, and Southern Provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa District.

Moderate winds, reaching speeds of about 30-40 km/h, may occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-Central, North-Western, and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Matara and Hambantota Districts.

The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
