Due to the prevailing weather conditions, a landslide has occurred between the Ohiya and Idalgashinna railway stations.

As a result, train operations on the Upcountry railway line have been disrupted.

The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation stated that railway staffs have been deployed to the affected area to remove the debris.

Accordingly, the Ministry further mentioned that efforts are underway to restore train operations to normal as quickly as possible.

Due to this, the night mail train scheduled to run from Colombo Fort to Badulla and the train scheduled to run from Badulla to Colombo Fort have been delayed until the railway line is restored to normal.
