“‘’There is no need to create undue fear about the new virus in China’’–Dr.Jude Jayamaha”
Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo, Dr. Jude Jayamaha explained the symptoms associated with the virus as follows:
“Typically, the symptoms include cough, runny nose, and mild fever. In addition, individuals with underlying health conditions may experience difficulty breathing, potentially leading to pneumonia.
However, this occurs only in rare cases and does not affect everyone. The likelihood of it becoming fatal is extremely low. Most people recover after a few days of fever, cough, and runny nose. There is no need to conduct tests just because someone is infected.”
