Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe, Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, told Parliament on yesterday (04) that the country expects to earn five billion dollars and attract three million tourists by 2025.

According to him, they expect little more than two million tourists in 2024 and earn $3 billion.

Sri Lanka expects $10 billion in tourism revenue by 2029

In the first ten months of 2024, more than 1.62 million tourists visited Sri Lanka, generating over 2.5 billion dollars in earnings, Prof. Ranasinghe told Parliament.

According to him, the government plans to implement the national tourism policy in 2025 and anticipates earning $10 billion and bringing in five million tourists by 2029.
