Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Administrative Secretary, Renuka Perera, has been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to the police, Renuka Perera was arrested over allegations of spreading false information on social media regarding the “Maveerar” commemoration in the Northern Province.

A group of CID officers visited his residence this morning to record a statement, following which the arrest was made.
The police further stated that the CID is conducting further investigations into the matter concerning Renuka Perera.
