According to the Election Commission, the 2024 Parliamentary Election expense report deadline for submission is set for midnight today (06).
According to R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, the chairman of the Election Commission, only 1,985 of the 8,361 candidates who contested for election have submitted in their reports so far.
“2024 General Election: Today is the last day for submitting expense reports”
He further stressed that if applicants do not submit the required reports by the prescribed time frame, legal action will be taken against them.
According to the Chairman, plans are also underway to hold the local government elections as soon as feasible.
