Following the instructions of the Minister to repair roads and bridges damaged due to heavy rains, officials and teams from the Road Development Authority worked tirelessly around the clock.

The temporary iron bridge proposed as a replacement for the damaged bridge at the 19/1 km point on the Manampitiya-Aralaganwila (B-502) road was completed last night (30). It has been opened for vehicular traffic from this morning.

The temporary bridge, expected to take two weeks, was completed in two days

The notable aspect of this project is that, although such work typically takes around 15 days to complete, it was accomplished in just two days due to the relentless dedication of engineers and the workforce who worked day and night.

The Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Services, Bimal Rathnayake, Deputy Minister Prasanna Gunaseena, and the Chairman and Director General of the Road Development Authority have extended special commendations to the team for their exceptional efficiency in completing the task.
