Following his National People’s Power (NPP)’s historic victory in the snap general election, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will appoint a new Prime Minister and Cabinet on Monday, November 18, according to the party’s senior spokesperson, Tilvin Silva.

On Monday, the Cabinet will be appointed, with a 25-member limit. It may be twenty-three or twenty-four or even less. “The ministries will be assigned subjects in a scientific manner,” he added.
With a two-thirds majority and a record-breaking 159 seats in total, the NPP dominated the parliamentary elections on Friday, November 15.
