In the 2024 General Election, the National People’s Power (NPP) won a landslide win in the Parliamentary Poll, according to the Election Commission of Sri Lanka’s all-island final results.
Following the counting of more than 6.8 million votes, or 61.56% of the total, the NPP secured 159 seats, including 18 bonus seats.
In the meantime, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) garnered nearly 1.9 million votes (17.66%), earning 40 seats, including five bonus seats, making them the main opposition party in the tenth Parliament.

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) only managed three seats, including one bonus seat, while the New Democratic Front (NDF) won five seats, including two bonus seats, and Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) won eight seats, including one bonus seat.
Despite failed to win any seats; “Sarvajana Balaya” managed to gain one bonus seat.
Each of the following parties has gained one seat: Sri Lanka Labour Party (SLLP), Jaffna-Independent Group 17, All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA), United National Party (UNP), and All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC).
