On the night of Monday, 04, the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Narcotics Control Unit thwarted an attempt to smuggle in a supply of drugs known as Crystal Methamphetamine, or ICE.
A 33-year-old woman with a Thai passport was taken into arrest by officers. She arrived from Kuala Lumpur last Monday at approximately 11:55 p.m.

According to a senior police spokesman, the suspects’ suitcases contained five kilos of ICE hidden in food packets, and the drug stash was value Rs. 100 million on the black markat.
The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and Sri Lanka Customs are conducting further investigations.
