According to the Ministry of Defence, there is no truth to the rumours that the Tri-Forces and the Civil Defence Force will no longer provide security at the country’s place of religious.
At yesterday afternoon’s special press conference, the Ministry of Defence media spokesperson communicated this information (03).
“Defence Ministry: No security is being withdrawn at places of religious worship”
Major General Rasika Kumara, the media spokesperson for the Sri Lanka Army, said during the press conference that the government has not yet decided to cut back on the number of security personnel deployed at the religious places.
Additionally, he assured that during regular security analyses by Army Headquarters, the removal of tri-forces personnel from places of religious will only occur if it is confirmed that the number of security personnel required for a particular location is less than the number deployed.
