According to the Meteorological Department, there will be several shower spells in the Galle and Matara districts as well as in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, and Northern provinces.
In the meanwhile, there will be several of places throughout the island that may see showers or thundershowers in the evening or at night.
“Local weather, several showery spells are expected today”
It also said that there is a chance of rather heavy showers, around 75 mm, in some places of the Eastern and Uva provinces.
Therefore, during thundershowers, the public is kindly requested to take the necessary precautions to reduce the damage caused by temporary, localized strong winds and lightning.
