The Department of Railways announced that train services from Colombo Fort to Kankasanturai, which were halted for months owing to maintenance and development activities, will resume today, 28.
This breakthrough follows after the railway length between Mahawa and Anuradhapura was successfully modernised, improving connectivity and ease for passengers heading to the country’s northern regions.
“Northern Line Train services will start up again today”
The Railway Department urges the public to exercise caution at railway crossings in light of the renewed operation. According to the department, everyone must put safety first and follow all crossing regulations now that trains are running on the Northern Railway.
