According to the Meteorology Department, there will be occasional showers or thundershowers in the districts of Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya, as well as in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western, and Northern provinces.
In some places of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northern provinces, fairly heavy showers over 75 mm are likely.

It further stated that there may be showers or thundershowers in a number of areas throughout the island during the evening or night, with some locations likely to experience rather heavy showers over 75 mm.
Thus, during thundershowers, the public is kindly requested to take the necessary precautions to reduce the harm caused by transient, localized strong winds and lightning.
