In Fundamental Rights (FR) petitions regarding to the alleged police attack and dispersion of a 2022 Socialist Youth Union (SYU) the Supreme Court has authorised the inclusion of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe as a respondent.

When two petitions filed by a group of SYU members were taken up for consideration yesterday (22) the court granted permission after taking into consideration a request made by the petitioning party’s attorneys.
