According to the Meteorology Department, there will be occasional showers or thundershowers in the districts of Kandy and Nuwara-eliya, as well as in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western, and Northern provinces.
There is a chance of fairly heavy showers over 50 mm in several areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northern provinces.

In the other areas of the island, there may be showers or thundershowers in some places during the evening or night, and in certain areas, rather heavy showers over 75 mm are expected, it adds.
