Vijitha Herath, Minister of Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, has directed officials to make sure that vehicle revenue licenses issued in the Western Province are easily transferable to other provinces.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation confirmed this.
The ministry highlighted that one of the major obstacles facing vehicle owners, particularly those from the Western Province, has been the lack of interprovincial coordination. The region with highest demand, the Western Province, has not yet fully implemented the necessary improvements despite previous announcements to address this issue.

Owners of vehicles registered in other provinces but located in the Western Province have long complained that obtaining revenue licenses is a difficult process that costs a lot of money, time, and effort.
In response to these concerns, Minister Herath has given the Western Province Governor instructions to speed up the process and ensure departmental coordination.
