The Railway Department reports that train services have been delayed due to a train derailing between the stations of Colombo Fort and Maradana.
“Trains between Fort and Maradana are delayed because of a derailment.”
It stated that at approximately 7:00 a.m. this morning (15), the Meenagaya Intercity Express Train’s engine had derailed in this way on its route from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort.
Train service between Colombo Fort and Maradana has been affected by this.
As a result, according to Sri Lanka Railways, train services on both the main line and the coastal line may encounter delays.
