Due to the unfavourable weather forecast, the education authorities have decided to keep the schools in a number of educational zones closed on Monday, and Tuesday.
So on Monday and Tuesday, all government schools in the educational zones of Gampaha, Kelaniya, Kolonnawa, and Kaduwela would be closed.

All government schools in the Colombo educational zone will close today,(14) according to the Western Provincial Education Director.
Due to the current unfavourable weather, it was announced earlier today that all government schools in the Wattala Zonal Division in the Gampaha District and the Kaduwela and Kolonnawa Education Zonal Divisions in the Colombo District will be closed today.
